BioTe Q & A

How can BioTe help me?

BioTe is the most in-demand bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) available. Also known as “pellet therapy,” BioTe is derived from all-natural sources and helps stabilize your hormone levels with few-to-no side effects. This highly effective hormone replacement treatment may be right for you if you struggle with:

  • Unexplained weight gain
  • Poor sleep quality
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Hot flashes

BioTe can even help you if you struggle with poor concentration and brain fog because of your abnormal hormone levels. This issue commonly affects women who are going through menopause.

What happens during a BioTe treatment?

When you come to Symonett Weight Loss Center for your BioTe appointment, your dedicated provider talks with you about the symptoms you’re experiencing. They may order some labs to check your hormones to ensure the issues you’re experiencing are related to a hormonal imbalance.

Once you and your provider determine that BioTe is right for you, they schedule you for an insertion (sometimes this can be done the same day). It’s just important to stop taking all nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), acetaminophen, and aspirin for one week prior to BioTe insertion to minimize bleeding.

During your BioTe insertion, your doctor carefully numbs the targeted area, usually right around your hip and upper buttocks. They make a small incision and insert the BioTe pellets. After your pellets are in place, your provider bandages the area.

You can return to most of your regular activities, but you should avoid strenuous lower body exercises, as well as swimming for about a week. Your body gradually absorbs the BioTe pellets over time, which keeps your hormone levels stable and minimizes the symptoms you experience.

How long does BioTe last?

You should start noticing an improvement in your health and any hormone-related symptoms in as little as two to four weeks after your BioTe insertion appointment at Symonett Weight Loss Center.

It may take up to three to six months for you to experience the optimal effects of BioTe. You can get BioTe pellets inserted two to four times each year to help keep your hormones at a normal level. The team at Symonett Weight Loss Center personalizes your plan along the way and schedules you for BioTe treatments as needed.
